dawn dorrington equus equine learning center
DAWN DORRINGTON
Owner & Senior Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator

Dawn was fortunate to grow up in the country with animals. Her passion for horses began before she could walk. She knew right away they were more than just a tool. Her best friends have always been horses. She spent many days playing dolls, having tea parties with her first pony after riding the trails with her mother. This connection continued as she grew and expanded her hobbies to include trail riding, 4-H, O-Mok-See, and barrel racing. These activities helped her to become the individual she is today. Horses helped teach her to overcome obstacles and to never to give up. She put herself through college by working for a bank providing customer service, moving her way up the ladder from entry level to handling the difficult customers requiring problem solving skills and exception customer service skills. Her degree in Business Management gave her opportunities to work in upper management overseeing different departments, leading teams, providing training, handling the difficulty of human resources, developing and implementing new programs, ensuring exceptional customer service and providing quality control. An opportunity arouse for her and her husband to purchase the business where her husband worked and they took it. She continued to barrel race and trail ride as time allotted through college and her career. Although successful as a manager and owning her own business, something was still missing. It hit her when someone asked. The desire to help others led her to Equine Connection. She became a certified as an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator in April 2016 and later created Equus LLC.
